Impressions

In a buying environment dominated by women, you better believe every detail matters, right down to tissue paper, ribbons and belly bands!

If your delivery presentation is weak or not consistent, although every other part of your client’s experience may have been great, it will have a negative influence.

Your packaging shouts who you are in the marketplace and strengthens your brand; it is vital!

Make sure that the design elements such as colors, images, typeface, etc for packaging are in sync with both your brand and your website.

Make it beautiful. Consumers love pretty products.

Incorporating beautiful elements will enhance the product features.

All companies should consider the feel of every material while they prepare the design. The printing, the finish, the embossing, etc. plays an essential role in the packaging design and perception.

Elements to think about for a boutique business model:

  • Ribbon-double sided satin-mixing two colors together
  • Tissue-either in the brand colors or imprinted with logo
  • Boxes printed with spot gloss
  • Belly bands
  • Unusual shapes
  • Colors that match the brand (I love black on black, matte with gloss, to separate elements)
  • Wax seals
  • Glimmer and shine (Glitter Dust Spray)
  • String tied around buttons for envelopes
  • Hand made bag tags or EMBOSSED paper bag tags
  • Embossing signature or writing it in gold or silver on the box
  • Include a beautiful quote within the packaging (Moo 1/2 cards)
  • Have small Polaroid style prints made of old photos and attach with a string to the bags.
  • Stickers that are creative
  • Bi-color string
  • Vellum printed message, thank you or quote that can lay over the images in your box.

Use your imagination and play around with whatever fits your brand.

Enjoy creating!
